A Gardener's Journal, A Kitten's Tale, Le Jardin and Secret Santa

So I have finished another block of A Gardener's Journal.  This is Block B - two more to go.  I have some of the quilt top put together.  It is going to be beautiful.

Here is my first block of A Kitten's Tale.  It is so cute.  I ordered the pattern from Pastimes On Line.  It is in Chestermere, Alberta Canada and Val is fantastic.  She runs a private blog for people who are making the quilt/doing the block of the month/or just a pattern of the month and it is awesome.  I am starting a new quilt with her in January - Life is Beautiful.  I can't wait.  You will see the tag on the right of my blog.

Block 8 of Le Jardin is almost finished.  I hope to post it soon.

I have been involved in a secret gift exchange also.  Here are pictures of my wapped gifts.  I wrapped them in fabric and shipped them off to Australia.

but I cannot show you the finished items until my secret santa partner has opened everything.  How exciting.  I wrapped them both in fabic.  I can't wait to get my presents!

I will post the pictures of what I made and what I receive as soon as I can (which will probably be Christmas).

Happy Quilting and Stitching!!!

Le Jardin, Gardener's Journal, Christmas Ornament

I just came back from a retreat this weekend.  How amazing to be able to sew and eat for three days.

I just finished Le Jardin block 7 which is the on on the bottom.  On the top are two other blocks from le Jardin which I have just joined.  I just started Block 8 and only one more to go YIPPEE!  It is such a beautiful quilt.  I had lots of compliments on it on the weekend at my retreat.

My dog, Molly, loves this quilt also!  She is so cute!

Oh and Block F of A Gardener's Journal is finished.  What a pretty quilt and such fun embroidery.  I love the embroidery.  This has been such a fun stitch a long with Chookyblue just a couple more blocks to go and then put together and quilted.

Here is something else I just finished - a cute embroidered ornament.  I have had so many compliments on this ornament.  I just have to add a hanger.

More later,
Lori

A Gardner's Journal/Le Jardin/A Kitten's Tale

I have not posted in so long.  It has been quite a busy summer and we just got high speed which makes things so much easier!

I have been working on the A Gardener's Journal quilt and have been posting to that blog.  Here are some pictures of my blocks:

It is such a fun quilt to make and with the support of a group it has been easy to keep up.  Check out the A Gardener's Journal Stitch-A-Long blog.

Here are the blocks I have completed for Le Jardin.  It is such a beautiful quilt by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.  I have completed five blocks and am almost finished the 6th.

I am also about to start A Kitten's Tale by Lynette Anderson.  Here is the pattern for block 1 and my fabrics

Happy Stitching and Quilting!  Back to school for my girls on Tuesday.  My youngest starts grade 7 and my oldest girl is starting high school!

A Gardener's Journal

I have just finished my first block for A Gardner's Journal and I think it has turned out great!  I am having so much fun with this quilt that right now my others have been pushed to the side.  Oh well will get back to them eventually.  Here is a picture of my first block and my inner and outer border fabrics:

I love doing the stitching as it is so relaxing and great for sitting outside and just stitching away by the pool.  I have met lots of friends already on this journey and each day new blocks seem to magically appear.

Here is a picture of a quilt I just recently finished.  It is called Darjeeling and is made with Antique Serenity fabrics.  Isn't it beautiful?  I quilted it myself and I love the way it has turned out.  I took a class at my local quilt shop with one of my most favourite teachers, Irene:

Chow for now and back to my stitcheries!!!!

My first post and new to blogging

This is my first blog. I just created my blog today. I am an avid quilter. I love stitching, quilting and everything and anything to do with fabric.

I have just joined the A Gardener's Journal stitch-a-long led by ChookyBlue and it is going to be an awesome time. Take a look if you get a chance.

I love my family - I have a wonderful husband and two daughters, and my pets, my sweet Chocolate Lab, Molly and my sweet fat tabby cat, Rory. My daughters also have two hamsters.

I love gardening also.

I am crazy about Bunny Hill designs right now. I am working on the following:

Baltimore Bunnies
Rabbits Prefer Chocolate
A Vintage Christmas
Autumn House
Le Jardin
Bunny Patch - just finished piecing.
A Tisket A Tasket
and am starting the free mystery block of the month - Snowbound.

There are lots more, but am focusing mainly on my Bunny Hill quilts.

Brigette at Bunny Hill is my best, most favourite internet buddy.  I am so glad to have found her.

I am so new to blogging that I have lots to learn, like how to post pictures.

Once I figure out how to set up things, I willl post some pictures.
